About YachtCharterCost
YachtCharterCost publishes independent guides to yacht charter prices for one job: helping you understand what a day or a trip on a yacht should cost, and what to check, before you book.
Most yacht rental pages online are written by the companies renting the boats. Many are useful, but each one shows only its own prices. We put several published price lists side by side, add the fees most listings leave out, and link the official rules.
Who writes these guides
The guides are written and maintained by Jackson, the site's founder and editor. Jackson is not a yacht captain, broker or maritime lawyer. What the guides offer is careful reading of published price pages and official sources, with every figure linked so you can check it yourself.
How we research and check
- Prices come from price pages and listings published by yacht charter operators and marketplaces. We name the source next to each table, give the date we checked it, and say when sources disagree.
- Rules and fees come from official sources: the U.S. Coast Guard for passenger limits, and the Government of The Bahamas for cruising permits and charter taxes.
- Worked examples are our own calculations, with every assumption stated.
- We re-check figures when the source pages change and update the date at the top of each guide.
We do not publish made-up reviews, star ratings or "exclusive" prices, and we have not been aboard the yachts listed in our tables.
How we make money
Some links on this site are referral links. If you book a charter through them, the booking platform may pay us a commission. You pay the same price. Today our referral partner is: YATR. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
